According to the officials and newspaper reports, the admission process of Delhi University will begin later this week. Rajeev Gupta, Dean of Students Welfare, DU, said that “May 27 is definitely not going to be admission day instead the process will begin later this week and the forms will be out at the beginning of June.”
The University of Delhi or as it is popularly known as DU is one of the most popular choices amongst students. Every year lakhs of students apply for admission in DU. Last year, in less than 02 days until the online registrations, approximately 3.5 lakh applicants registered for DU Admissions, out of which, two lakh applicants have completed their forms and paid the application fees.
Does receiving lakhs of applications impact DU Cutoffs? The total number of forms received will not impact cutoffs. However, If there are many forms from students who have scored over 90% or 95% then, it may then impact the cut-off.
Rajeev Gupta, Dean of Students Welfare, DU, also commented that “The registration process will remain open only for two weeks this time where students can fill all the details. Once the registration process is over.
For the academic year 2019-20, apart from caste reservations and extracurricular activities quota, this time the Govt of India has introduced a new category of reservation for ‘Economically Weaker Section’. Last year, the students were offered a total number of seats was 56,000. Whereas, this time there will be as many as 6000 seats due to the inclusion of 10% reservation under the EWS category, so nearly 62,000 seats will be available and reservation schemes will be at par with Central govt guidelines.
